Ho hum. In this age of Islamic Terrorists I was able to find a recipe on the Internet for making cyanide at home. Which got me thinking, I wonder how many Muslim Chemistry teachers George Bush has rounded up. And where might you find such materials for doing this.. yes thats right in a Pharmacy.. oh but good heavens.. aren't lots of Pharmacists Pakistani's these days.. and oh god.. possibly muslims. Holy Flaming Fists of Allah Batman! Arrest them!! Now damnit!! argh!!!
Actually, what I found most shocking was this bit:
Hydrogen cyanide in aqueous solution (hydrocyanic acid) is readily absorbed from the skin (Potten, 1950; Tovo, 1955) and from all mucous membranes (such as the rectum and vagina)
Presumably this was done in the lab by testing on rats or mice. Can you imagine talking about your line of work down the Pub. "Oh yes, I make my living from sticking HCN up rats arses". (I'm not even going to contemplate rat vaginas)

I. Background
Alkali metal cyanides (mostly potassium cyanide, KCN, or sodium cyanide, NaCN) have a history dating back to the 18th century. They are widely used in chemical synthesis, gold mining, electroplating, and a variety of other industrial processes. NaCN and KCN are very similar chemically, although sometimes one form or the other is preferred. They are very toxic to higher forms of life and hence may be difficult to purchase without the backing of a business or educational institute.
