[ That is Do-It-Yourself for our american readers - home improvement kind of thing ]

It's always tedious having to apologise for the lack of posts on a website, but there have been a couple of reasons why I've been quiet recently. Here is the first one:

Now that I've had the house to myself for the last few months, I've been working hard on doing all those little jobs that I never got round to before. And lo, the poor old combination boiler, whose hot water flow rate was about 2 litres a minute, is gone (and let me tell you that was a f'ing heaver bugger to remove). Replaced with a shiny new hot water cylinder and gas boiler. I obviously work in the wrong business if a plumber can charge £50 for cutting a gas pipe, but I digress.

Also fixed were a number of little jobs that I really had no excuse to wait 2 years to fix, such as the leaky roof, and broken sash cords, and the wiring up of the new fusebox. (Not that I cut the tags on the main incoming fuses to do that. no sir.)

Of course, the best thing so far is the power shower... mmmhmmm.

Currently working on stripping the wallpaper from the main bedroom, to try and replace the previous owners striking purple colour scheme. So there you, a summer of DIY.
