For ages I've been meaning to dip into my vast photo archive and post the occasional random photo on the site with a little bit of narrative.
So here is the first one, entitled "cruise control works at 100mph".
It was taken 4 years ago whilst driving up interstate 5 from Los Angeles to San Jose on a business trip. For an englishman used to driving at speed, being limited to 65mph on a long straight road in a big saab convertable is suprisingly frustating. My colleague and I were wondering if, in this litigious age, there was any kind of limiter on the cruise control system, so we put it to the test by trying to drive at 100mph.
The result, as you can see, is pretty conclusive.

He! Great fun! I once did an average speed of 101MPH across Belgium, just to see if it was possible. It was certainly dangerous...
This is getting a bit testosterone driven. But I once drove from Nuremberg in Germany to Switzerland in a Peugeot cabriolet. At no point on the autobahn did I drop below 100mph.
Of course this was on an autobahn, so does it count?
